During a chilly evening on New Year’s Eve, IRIS leaves the warmth of her home and boards a train to welcome her brother, who is being released from prison. She wants to bring him home away from the temptations that lurk out there in the dark. A wrong choice causes her to lose herself and run late for their meeting. In the meantime, ALEX is waiting for his sister outside the train station and as she fails to appear, a familiar feeling of despair takes hold of him. He wanders alone through the night, trying to escape what seems predetermined. The next morning, when presence will transcend absence, IRIS will be reunited with her brother.
